From September 16, 2019, till September 20, 2019, Institute of Linguistics and Intercultural Communication (Sechenov University) invites to join the Autumn School–2019 Professional Communication in English for International Medical Students.
The main idea of the School is to promote cross-cultural communication and collaboration among the medical profession: “Exchange of knowledge, experience and ideas for the benefit of all the nations to make the world population healthier.”
The programme of the School consists of 5 modules (1 day – 1 module). Each module is devoted to a certain aspect of professional communication and includes two parts: training section (lectures, interactive lectures, workshops, etc.) and practical section (working in groups, round tables, presenting individual projects on the module topic, and case studies).
Today, international integration of a modern doctor and scientist is impossible without knowledge of English. And knowledge of general English is not enough. What is more important is professional communication in English. What is academic writing in English? How can you learn to write articles for international journals? What are linguistic features of a medical scientific article? How should you work with editorial board? What is the right way to ask a question at a conference? How to answer a question? How can you prepare a high-quality presentation of a scientific report? What is intercultural competence in professional communication?
What role do humanities play in modern medicine?
At Autumn School – 2019, you will receive answers to these and many other questions as well as practical recommendations.
Moreover, you will have an excellent opportunity to discuss and to debate current and planned research work with Jonathan McFarland, Head of Academic Writing Office.

Admission 2020-2021 is open now. Join to thousands of happy students in First Moscow State Medical University
