The Department of Internal, Occupational Diseases and Rheumatology (the former. Therapy and Occupational Diseases) was established in 1930. Since the late 1960s, the base of the department is the EM Nephrology, Internal and Occupational Diseases Clinic. Tareeva University Clinical Hospital № 3 Clinical Center. Since 2013, the department includes the Department of Pulmonology FPPOV, founded in 1991 on the basis of MONIKI named after M.F. Vladimirsky, from 2017 – Department of Nephrology and Hemodialysis.

The department provides training for students from different faculties of the university, as well as postgraduate education for doctors in therapy, nephrology and pulmonology (clinical residency and postgraduate studies, certification courses). Teaching of internal diseases is carried out according to the “cross-cutting” method: the entire course (nursing, internal diseases propaedeutics, internal diseases, occupational diseases) is conducted in one department. In addition, the department implements elective courses aimed at students of the medical faculty. The staff of the department and the clinic have written textbooks on internal diseases, prepared the necessary teaching materials, technical training tools. Significant advances in research have been achieved.
