The goal is the participation of students in the formation and continuous improvement of relevant competences, improvement of the quality of education, providing the level of qualification and training of relevant specialists, obtaining additional knowledge and skills on the educational program, involving the study of individual disciplines necessary to perform new types of professional activity, as well as improving the quality of teaching and student satisfaction with the learning process.

The task is to train highly qualified personnel with deep theoretical and practical knowledge, a high level of professionalism and competence in the field of transplantology and artificial organs.

Students should know, be able to identify the symptoms of the most common diseases and have the purpose of informative and adequate examination, aimed at the diagnosis and differential diagnosis of diseases requiring transplantation; know, be able to and apply the basic methods of treatment, prevention and care for patients with diseases of vital organs.

As a result of mastering the discipline, students will receive basic knowledge of clinical transplantology and the use of artificial organs, including indications for transplantation, operation techniques, case management in the preoperative and postoperative periods at various stages.

The department trains students of the medical faculty according to the program “Basics of transplantology and artificial organs”.

The program outlines: the basic principles for the development of clinical transplantation in Russia, problems of organ donation, criteria for biological compatibility of organs and tissues during transplantation (typing), transplantation of vital organs, features of anesthetic and reanimation aid, physiological aspects of using artificial organs and auxiliary systems, methods of auxiliary blood circulation, cellular technologies, results of morphological studies of allograft organs.

Training is carried out according to the following programs: basics of transplantology and artificial organs; donation in clinical transplantation; clinical heart transplantation; clinical liver transplantation; clinical transplantation of the gland; clinical kidney transplantation; transplant immunology and immunosuppression; anesthetic and intensive care manual for organ transplantation; modern methods of treating heart failure.

The main part of the program is dedicated to the transplantation of vital organs: heart, liver, kidney, pancreas.

It provides for the mandatory participation of students in clinical and scientific conferences, independent study of the recommended literature, participation in operations on the transplantation of vital organs, the analysis of clinical cases.

As a result of mastering the program, students receive basic knowledge of clinical transplantology and the use of artificial organs, including the indications for transplantation, the technique of operations, the management of patients in the preoperative and postoperative periods at various stages.

Employees of the department conducts consultative polyclinic work using the most modern diagnostic equipment available at the FSUE “NMITS TII them. ac IN AND. Shumakov “Ministry of Health of Russia.

All members of the department are engaged in scientific work, the results are published in the form of monographs, articles, guidelines.

The department takes an active part in organizing and holding conventions and conferences on transplantology and artificial organs.
