The Department of Tropical Medicine and Parasitic Diseases of the Preventive Medical Faculty is a structural educational and scientific department of the FSAEI of HE First Moscow State Medical University named after I.M. Sechenov (Sechenov University).
In September 2009, the Department of Tropical Medicine and Parasitic Diseases was organized as part of the medical and preventive faculty (Rector’s order No. P-070 dated March 20, 2009).
Since March 1, 2012, the department has been expanded in connection with its unification with the Department of Parasitology, Parasitic and Tropical Diseases of the IPFP and PDPO (Rector Order No. Р-078 of March 2, 2012).
The head of the department is Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor Vladimir Petrovich Sergiev.
